The design for a set of dining chairs commissioned by a Vermont-based furniture maker.
Inspired by an existing dining table, the chairs combine the company’s tradition for woodcraft and upholstery with a contemporary brushed steel frame.
As dining chairs are often seen as a set and from behind, the design’s front and back are modulated to allow for a series of different slatting and cushioning customisations over time.
Maple, cherry and walnut planking can be paired with reused velvets, leathers and cotton upholstery.
